I’ve got one version of a simple pattern today.
We’ve been working on Henry’s résumé and portfolio for his audition at Denver School of the Arts tomorrow. It seems a little crazy to be doing a résumé for a 6th grader. I think that’s why we didn’t look into DSA last year….it just seems over the top to have to be this focused when one is so young. It’s a funny contradiction — in order to be in DSA’s creative, open environment, the kids have to pigeonhole themselves by picking a “major” at the tender age of 11. Hopefully once they’re in, the school will be more accepting of creative diversity and cross-disciplinary work.
In any case, I’ve been more focused on the DSA audition and less focused on the pattern of the day. So here it is….simple and almost monochromatic.
